Orcus is a special kind of space object called a dwarf planet. It lives far away from Earth, in a place called the Kuiper belt. This belt is beyond the orbit of the planet Neptune.

Orcus has a big moon named Vanth. It is about the same size as another dwarf planet called Ceres. Scientists think Orcus is made of water ice and may have other interesting materials on its surface.

Orcus was found in 2004 by three astronomers from America. Because it is similar to Pluto but also different, some people call it the β€œanti-Pluto.” Its name comes from an old Roman god of the underworld.

Orcus takes many years to travel around the Sun. It moves in a special pattern with Neptune. Scientists are still learning more about how long it takes Orcus to spin once on its axis.

Orcus and its moon Vanth are interesting objects for scientists to study. They help us learn more about the distant parts of our solar system.
