Slovenia is a beautiful country in Central Europe. It is surrounded by Italy to the west, Austria to the north, Hungary to the northeast, and Croatia to the south and southeast. Slovenia also has a small coastline along the Adriatic Sea.

The land in Slovenia is mostly covered with forests and mountains. About 2.1 million people live there. The official language is Slovene.

Today, Slovenia is a developed country with a strong economy. It is part of important global groups, including the European Union and the United Nations. The capital city is Ljubljana.
