The Southeastern United States

The Southeastern United States is a special part of the country. It is found on the eastern side of the Southern United States and the southern side of the Eastern United States. This area includes states that stretch up to Maryland and West Virginia, near the Ohio River. It also reaches west to Arkansas and Louisiana.

The Southeast is an interesting place because its borders can change. Different groups may describe the Southeast in different ways. This makes it fun to learn about because people can think about it in many ways.

The Southeast has many big cities and states. Some of the most populous states are Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. The region also includes Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, which are islands southeast of Florida.

Many people live in the Southeast, and it has a rich culture. People from many backgrounds live there, including African Americans, who make up a large part of the population. Big cities in the Southeast include Atlanta, Charlotte, and Memphis.

The Southeast is also known for its sports. It has many professional teams, like the Atlanta Falcons in football and the Atlanta Hawks in basketball. College sports are very popular too, with big games called bowls happening in cities across the area.
