Southern National Park

Southern National Park is a big, beautiful place in South Sudan where animals and plants can live safely. It was set aside to protect nature a long time ago, in 1939. The park is very large, covering an area of 23,000 km².

The park has many rivers that help create a wet, swampy area. The Sue River flows to the west and joins the Nile. The Gel River is to the east, and the Ibba River runs through the middle.

Southern National Park is home to many interesting animals and plants. You can find fish like tilapia, lung fish, and catfish in the rivers. Large animals such as giant eland, waterbuck, and Kordofan giraffe also live there. Birds like marabou storks and pelicans can be seen flying above the park.
