What is Steam?
Steam is water that has been turned into a gas. This happens when water is heated and turns into vapor. When water becomes steam, it expands and takes up much more space—about 1,700 times more than the water itself!
Why is Steam Important?
Steam played a big role during the Industrial Revolution, helping change how people worked and lived. Today, steam is very useful. It helps make most of the world's electricity. Steam can also heat buildings and cook food. It is used in many places, from homes to factories, making many things easier and cleaner.
Fun Uses of Steam
At home, steam can help clean clothes and remove wrinkles. It can also cook food quickly. In farms, steam helps keep the soil healthy. Steam is also used to clean and sterilize tools in labs. It can even bend wood and help dry concrete!
