Sunrise
Sunrise is the beautiful moment when the Sun first appears in the sky in the morning. It marks the start of a new day. When we watch a sunrise, we see the Sun come up from the horizon, which is the line where the sky meets the Earth.
People all over the world love to watch sunrises because they are very pretty. The sky turns soft orange, pink, and red colors. This happens because the Sun's light travels through a lot of air before it reaches us. The air helps change the Sun's bright white light into these warm colors.
A sunrise is not the same every day. It can happen a little earlier or later depending on where you live and what time of year it is. In the spring, sunrises come earlier each day. In the summer, they happen a bit later.
Many people think the Sun rises up from the horizon, but really it is the Earth that is moving and makes it look like this. Long ago, people thought the Earth was the center of everything. But we now know the Sun is at the center of our solar system.
Watching a sunrise can make us feel happy and give us a new start each day. Whether you see it over the ocean, a forest, or a city, sunrise is a special time to enjoy the beauty of nature.
