Tết
Tết is the biggest and most important holiday in Vietnam. It is a time for families to come together and welcome the new year. Tết usually happens between late January and February each year.
Tết is based on a special calendar that follows both the Sun and the Moon. This makes Tết happen around the same time as Chinese New Year. Families work together to prepare for this happy time.
During Tết, families clean their homes and decorate them with pretty flowers like peach blossoms. They also cook special foods such as bánh chưng and xôi. Children often receive red envelopes of money from their elders for good luck.
People visit family and friends, and many enjoy traditional games and fireworks. Tết is a joyful time filled with love, laughter, and hopes for a happy new year. It is a wonderful celebration of family, culture, and new beginnings in Vietnam.
