Tang Dynasty

The Tang Dynasty was a wonderful time in old China. It lasted from 618 to 907 and is remembered as a golden age full of art, music, and new ideas. The capital city, Chang'an, which is today’s Xi'an, was one of the biggest and busiest cities in the world.

Many famous people lived during the Tang Dynasty. Great poets like Li Bai and Du Fu wrote beautiful poems that people still read and enjoy today. Artists, musicians, and thinkers all made important contributions to make this time special.

People in the Tang Dynasty loved to learn. They had special tests to choose leaders, and anyone could try to take these tests. This helped make sure leaders were fair and smart. The Tang Dynasty also shared ideas with other countries, like Japan and Korea, who learned from China’s culture and ways.

Life in the Tang Dynasty was fun and lively. People enjoyed sports like archery and polo. They celebrated holidays with big feasts and music. Women could take part in many activities, including sports and poetry. Tea became very popular, and people loved to eat new foods like rice and wheat cakes.

The Tang Dynasty was a rich and happy time for China, full of creativity and friendship with other lands.
