Titus

Titus was a kind and fair emperor of Rome. He ruled for only two years, from 79 to 81 AD, but people still remember him today.

Titus was born in Rome on December 30, 39 AD. He was the oldest son of the emperor Vespasian. Titus grew up with his younger sister and brother in a very important family. He learned to speak both Greek and Latin very well.

When Titus became emperor, he made sure people were treated fairly. He helped fix problems after a big fire in Rome and after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, which changed the land near Pompeii and Herculaneum. Titus also started building the famous Colosseum where people could watch fun games and shows.

Many people loved Titus because he was kind and fair. After he passed away from a fever, the Roman Senate honored him. Today, you can still see the Arch of Titus in Rome, which reminds us of his time as emperor.
