Vatican City is the smallest country in the world! It is very tiny, about the size of a few city blocks, and has only around 882 people living there. It is located right inside the city of Rome, Italy.
The leader of Vatican City is called the pope. The pope is also the head of the Catholic Church, which has over a billion members all around the world.
Vatican City became its own country in 1929. It is home to some very important places, like St Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. These places have beautiful art and are visited by many people every year.
Inside Vatican City, there are also gardens, museums, and a post office. The Vatican makes money by charging people to visit its museums and by selling stamps and souvenirs. It does not collect taxes.
Vatican City is a special place because of its history, art, and importance to the Catholic Church. It is a unique and peaceful spot in the middle of Rome.
