Mike Accursi was born on February 25, 1975, in Pelham, Ontario. He is a former professional box lacrosse player from Canada. Today, he works as a teacher and lacrosse coach at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Accursi is also a coach for the Halifax Thunderbirds, a team in the National Lacrosse League. He has also coached for the Rochester Knighthawks in the past.
During his playing career, Accursi achieved great success. He won two Champion's Cups in a row with the Rochester Knighthawks and the Buffalo Bandits. He also won two Mann Cups in the Canadian Lacrosse Association; one with the Brampton Excelsiors in 2002 and another with the Peterborough Lakers in 2004.
Junior career
Mike Accursi played for the Burlington Chiefs and the St. Catharines Athletics in the OLA Junior A Lacrosse League for five years. In 1993, he received the "P.C.O. Trophy" for being the league's best new player.
