Unified Team at the 1992 Winter Olympics

The Unified Team at the 1992 Winter Olympics was a special group of athletes from five countries that used to be part of the same big country called the Soviet Union. These countries were Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Uzbekistan. They decided to work together as one team for these games, which were held in Albertville. This was the only time they ever joined forces, and they also did the same at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

The Unified Team competed under the name EUN, which comes from the French words Equipe Unifiée. Even though they did really well, they finished just behind a country called Germany, which had recently become one country again after being split apart. It was an exciting time to see athletes from these different places come together to compete as one team.

Members

The Unified Team at the 1992 Winter Olympics was made up of athletes from five countries: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. These countries worked together as one team for this special event.

Medalists

The Unified Team came in second place after Germany in both gold medals and the total number of medals at the 1992 Winter Olympics. They won 9 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals, adding up to 23 medals in total.

The biathlon events at the 1992 Winter Olympics included races for both men and women. The men's events featured individual races and a 4 × 7.5 km relay, while the women competed in their own individual races and a 3 × 7.5 km relay.

In cross-country skiing at the 1992 Winter Olympics, athletes competed in several events. The men took part in races including a 4 × 10 km relay, while the women competed in events such as a 4 × 5 km relay. The races used two styles: classical and freestyle. Some races had delays based on previous results.

Nordic combined

In the Nordic combined events at the 1992 Winter Olympics, athletes competed in two main activities: ski jumping and cross-country skiing. In the men's individual event, participants first jumped on a normal hill, with the best two out of three jumps counted. Then, they raced a 15 km cross-country course, but their start times were delayed based on their ski jumping scores.

In the men's team event, each team had three members. Again, they performed ski jumps on the normal hill, counting the best two jumps from each member. The team then raced a 10 km cross-country course, with start delays determined by their ski jumping results.
