Welcome to Andorra!

Andorra is a tiny country nestled in the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain. It is one of the smallest countries in Europe, with just around 89,000 people living there. The capital city, Andorra la Vella, is special because it is the highest capital city in all of Europe!

Two Leaders

Andorra has a unique way of governing. It has two leaders called co-princes. One co-prince is the bishop of Urgell in Spain, and the other is the president of France. This arrangement has been in place for many years and makes Andorra unique.

Beautiful Mountains and Skiing

Andorra is famous for its beautiful mountains and is a wonderful place for skiing. Many people visit Andorra to enjoy its ski resorts, especially in places like Grandvalira. The mountains are not only great for skiing but also for hiking and other outdoor activities during the summer.

Language and Culture

The main language spoken in Andorra is Catalan. However, many people also speak Spanish, Portuguese, and French because of the country's close ties with its neighbors. Andorra has a rich culture with traditional dances, festivals, and delicious food that mixes Catalan, French, and Italian influences.

Fun Facts

  • Andorra is so small that you can cross from one end to the other in just an hour!
  • The country has no army. It relies on France and Spain for protection.
  • Andorra uses the euro as its currency, just like many other European countries.
