Columbus Circle

Columbus Circle is a busy place where four big streets meet in Manhattan, New York City. These streets are Eighth Avenue, Broadway, Central Park South, and Central Park West. It is right at the southwest corner of Central Park.

People know about Columbus Circle because it is where official highway distances from New York City start. It is named after a tall monument in the middle. This monument is about Christopher Columbus, and it is a special historic place.

Many years ago, a person named Frederick Law Olmsted helped design Central Park, and he included this circle in his plans. Over time, the area around the circle grew with many buildings and places to visit.

Columbus Circle is also a stop for many buses and the New York City Subway. You can ride the A, B, and D trains to get there.

The circle is a fun spot to see because it has been in many movies and TV shows. It is a lively place where people can walk, look at the monument, and enjoy the area around Central Park.
