Dianthus plumarius
Dianthus plumarius is a pretty little flower that people love to grow in gardens. It is also called the common pink, garden pink, or wild pink. This flower has lovely pink petals and a nice smell that can make any garden happy and bright.
This small plant grows all year and gets to be about as tall as a child's knee. It has thin, green leaves and shows its beautiful flowers from May until August. After the flowers are done, the plant makes tiny seed pods.
The common pink grows naturally in places like Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia. You can also find it in Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, and many parts of the United States such as Alabama, South Carolina, and California.
People have grown these flowers for many years because they are tough and can live in many different places. Their bright colors and sweet smell make gardens and parks more beautiful and attract helpful insects.
