The Empire State Building
The Empire State Building is a very tall building in New York City, United States. It is in the Midtown South area of Manhattan. People visit it to see amazing views from high up.
It was built between 1930 and 1931. The building looks special because it is made in a style called Art Deco. It has 102 floors and is very tall, measuring 1,454 feet (443 meters) with its antenna. For a time, it was the tallest building in the world.
Many tourists come each year to stand on the 86th and 102nd floors and look out over the city. The building is famous and has been in many movies and TV shows, like King Kong. It is a symbol of New York City and was named one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
The Empire State Building is on Fifth Avenue, between 33rd Street and 34th Street. Near it are fun places like Macy's and Koreatown. You can reach it by the New York City Subway at stops like 34th Street–Herald Square.
The building shines with colorful lights for holidays and special events. Visitors can ride fast elevators up to the high floors to see the city spark below them.
