Immanuel Kant
Immanuel Kant was a smart thinker from Germany. He was born in a city called Königsberg in East Prussia. Today, that place is part of Russia. Kant lived a long time ago, during a busy time called the Enlightenment.
Kant liked to ask big questions. He wondered how we know what is real and what is right. He wrote books about these ideas. One of his most famous books is called Critique of Pure Reason. In it, he said our minds help us understand the world, like how we use space and time.
Kant also thought about morality. He believed we can know what is right by using our reason. He even dreamed of a world where countries could work together for peace.
Kant never got married but loved learning. He followed a regular routine every day. People still read his books today because his ideas help us think about big questions. His tomb is in a special building called a mausoleum in Kaliningrad, Russia. Many visit it to remember this great thinker.
