What is Mobile Commerce?
Mobile commerce is a fun way to buy and sell things using mobile phones or other wireless devices. Imagine having a little shop right in your hand! You can look at items, pick what you like, and buy them—all from your phone, no matter where you are.
A Short History
The idea of mobile commerce started in 1997 by Kevin Duffey. He thought of putting shopping right in people’s hands. Soon after, in Finland, people could buy drinks from Coca-Cola machines using SMS text messages. This was the first time mobile phones were used for buying things.
Why It’s Popular
Today, many people use mobile commerce to buy things they need or want. It has become very popular all around the world. A lot of mobile shopping happens in Asia, showing just how important phones are for shopping. With smartphones, people can now buy things using special apps, making it even easier and faster to shop.
