The Oireachtas

The Oireachtas is the parliament of Ireland. It is where important people meet to make laws and help the country.

The Oireachtas has three parts: the president of Ireland, a lower house called Dáil Éireann, and an upper house called Seanad Éireann. These three parts work together to make decisions for the country.

The two houses meet in a big, old building called Leinster House in Dublin. This building used to be a palace from long ago. The Dáil Éireann is very important because its members are chosen by the people of Ireland.

The Oireachtas helps Ireland by making laws, managing money, and listening to the voices of the Irish people. The president also helps by guiding and approving important decisions.
