The Sejm
The Sejm is an important part of the government in Poland. It is the lower house of the parliament. Together with the upper house, called the Senate, it makes laws for the country.
The Sejm has 460 deputies, or representatives, who are chosen by people all over Poland. They are elected every four years. These deputies work together to help make decisions that affect everyone in Poland.
In the past, the Sejm was part of a bigger group that included the King. Today, it is a main part of the government of the Third Polish Republic, which started in 1989 after big changes in the country.
The Sejm is important because it helps make sure the government works well and makes good laws for Poland. It is one of the oldest groups like this in the world, and many people know about it because of its long history.
