Ski Jumping at the Winter Olympics

Ski jumping is a fun and exciting sport at the Winter Olympic Games. People have been doing ski jumping in every Winter Olympics since the year 1924. At first, athletes jumped from one hill that changed each year. Later, they used two kinds of hills: a normal hill and a large hill.

In 1988, a team event was added so athletes could jump as a group. By 1992, the hills were described by their K-point distances instead of exact lengths. In 2014, women joined in for the first time, and Carina Vogt from Germany won the first gold medal. Ski jumping is a special part of the Winter Olympics that many people enjoy watching.

Many countries have won medals in ski jumping. Norway has won the most medals, followed by Finland, Austria, and Germany. You can see the full list of medals below.
