Welcome to Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World is a magical place to visit! It is located about 20 miles southwest of Orlando, Florida in the United States. This huge fun spot opened on October 1, 1971, and is run by the Walt Disney Company. It covers more than 27,000 acres, which is like a big playground for everyone!
Fun Places to Explore
Walt Disney World has four amazing theme parks. The Magic Kingdom Park is where you can meet favorite characters and ride exciting rides. EPCOT teaches you about different cultures and cool inventions. Disney's Hollywood Studios lets you be part of movie magic, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park takes you on adventures with real animals.
There are also two water parks! Disney's Typhoon Lagoon has big water slides, and Disney's Blizzard Beach is a snowy water park with fun pools. You can also play golf, go to shows, and shop for souvenirs. There are many hotels to stay in, with different styles and themes.
A Dream Come True
Walt Disney started planning this special place in the 1960s. He wanted to build something bigger than Disneyland in Anaheim, California, which could not grow any larger. Sadly, Walt passed away before it was finished, but his brother, Roy O. Disney, made sure his dream came true. The Magic Kingdom was the first park to open, and later, more parks were added.
