Welcome to Israel!

Israel is a small but very interesting country in West Asia. It is located in a place called the Southern Levant. Israel is bordered by Lebanon to the north, Syria to the northeast, Jordan to the east, and Egypt to the southwest. Along its western coast lies the Mediterranean Sea, and its southern tip touches the Red Sea. The very low point of Earth is near the Dead Sea.

Cities and Places

Two main cities are very important. Jerusalem is where the government works, and many people think it is the country's capital. Tel Aviv is the largest city and a busy place for business.

A Land of History

The land of Israel has been home to many people for thousands of years. Ancient groups like the Canaanites lived here, followed by the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. Later, the Hasmonean Judea made their mark. Being near important trade routes, the area saw many cultures and rulers over time.

Modern Israel

In the 1900s, many Jewish people wanted their own home because of unfair treatment in Europe. With help from Britain, this dream grew. On May 14, 1948, Israel declared independence and became a country.

Everyday Life

Israel is known for being very advanced in technology. It has one of the highest standards of living in Asia. The culture mixes old Jewish traditions with influences from Arab neighbors.

Fun Facts

  • Israel is very good at making new inventions, especially in computers and medicine.
  • The country uses a lot of solar energy and has smart ways to save water.
  • Many different foods are enjoyed, like falafel, hummus, and shakshouka.

Israel is a place where history, culture, and modern life come together in a small but amazing country.
